About Rugby
Rugby is a team sport played by two opposing teams of either fifteen or seven player (in our case fifteen). These teams play on a field the size of a football field. Rugby is a full contact sport - that means tackling! The game is played continuously, with stoppages only for illegal actions, scores ("trys"), or if the ball goes out of bounds. The goal of the game is to score in the opponents end ("try") zone, this can be done by running forward with the ball, passing, and kicking.
Basically, it's the best sport in the world, played by the best people in the world. As the old saying goes... "Rugby is a sport for hooligans, played by gentlemen" - or in our case, women.
The best way to learn rugby is by playing! Don't feel overwhelmed if it's confusing at first; it often takes a few games to learn what you're doing, and a few seasons to understand everything! We ALWAYS welcome new players, no experience or knowledge of the game is needed, and within no time we will teach you how to play! If you would like to learn feel free to drop in for practice, we love to meet new people and share our love of rugby!
